Comments Off on Action Packed Road Trip – surfing & diving with Red Bull athlete Conor Maguire

Episode 2 is finally here!! As many of you know, I have teamed up with Red Bull Ireland to go on a mega road trip around Ireland showcasing not only all the thrilling adventure activities that are on our doorstep, but also to meet and hang out with their various athletes in each of their sports. Over the next few weeks I’ll be meeting up with many athletes I’ve looked up to over the years and most importantly, I’ll be trying their sports! As you can imagine, I’m excited!! In this video I drive to the west coast (Bundoran, near Co. Sligo) to meet up with Conor Maguire. He is well known in the surf community around the world, and more recently made the headlines surfing a huge 60ft wave on the Irish seas. He is an absolutely lovely guy and showed me around where he grew up, where he learnt to surf and gave me a little insight into his life. We kicked off with a bit of cliff diving off some rather large sea stacks, then after lunch we went surfing in Tullan Strand. Whilst the waves weren’t huge, it was perfect for me to learn how to surf. Conor is best know for big wave surfing, however he gets pretty tech on the smaller waves too. I hope you enjoy the video and stay tuned for the next episode of our epic staycation road trip in Ireland! Details

Comments Off on Wakeboarding on a clock!

This week on ‘Can I ride it?’, I try wakeboarding on a clock that I bought in my local department store. Disk boarding used to be a sport back in the day, and I’ve tried it one or two times in Orlando, Florida. Today I decided I’d try it on a homemade board. Let me know any cool ideas you have for me to try and thanks so much for watching. David Details

Comments Off on Track racing near Dublin

This video is a bit different to my usual ones but I wanted to film the day as I’ve been looking forward to it for months. A friend and I bought a very cheap/affordable track day car. It’s an Opel/Vauxhall Astra GTE. Technically it’s just an Astra, however, it has all the running gear of a GTE. It’s fully stripped, caged and has bucket seats. We’re complete amateurs and are just doing it for a bit of fun at our local race track Mondello Park. I also went to collect the new RS7 later in the day. I hope you enjoy this different video.. Comments Off on Mountain biking with Red Bull athlete Greg Callaghan!

Hello Lads & Lassies, and welcome to a new mini-series. I have teamed up with Red Bull Ireland to go on a mega road trip around Ireland showcasing not only all the thrilling adventure activities that are on our doorstep, but also to meet and hang out with various athletes in each of their sports. Over the next few weeks I’ll be meeting up with many athletes I’ve looked up to over the years and most importantly, I’ll be trying their sports! As you can imagine, I’m excited!! First up, Greg Callaghan, he’s one of the best Mountain Bikers in the world and ironically enough only lives around the corner from me. He took me up to Glencullen Adventure Centre (The GAP) where we got to know one another and then hit trails! His fitness, speed and style blew me away and after I got my breath back, we packed in the bikes and headed to Coliemore harbour in Dalkey. Waiting for us there was a good friend of mine, Kris Goodbody who owns and runs Big Style – a water sports adventure company that does everything from Kiteboarding to Stand Up Paddleboarding. He took myself and Greg out on a SUPing adventure to Dalkey Island which turned out to be very cool. I hope you enjoy episode number 1 and I’m excited for the next few weeks as we have a lot in store! A huge thanks to Red Bull, Greg, the GAP and of course Caimin Jacob (videographer) for making this episode happen. Thanks for watching! David Details

Comments Off on Wakeboarding on kitchen basins – is it possible?

If you’re a frequent viewer of the channel then you know I love to try random wakeboard contraptions. Basically, if it floats, I want to try it. This week I was in Woodies DYI shop and purchased a new wash basin for my kitchen. Then I had a lightbulb moment and decided to buy two, and try them wakeboarding. Whilst it wasn’t successful at the beginning, it ended up going very well and I managed to do a full lap of the wake park! Comments Off on Wakeboarding – 720 spin challenge, how many at low speed?
Wakeboarding 720 variants…

I decided to spend Sunday at the Cable Park in Belfast (Let’s Go Hydro). When I got there my good friend, David Coates, was there to help me film. What I didn’t realise was that the cable was running at a slow speed (22km/h instead of 30km/h). DC challenged me to try do as many 720 spin variants as possible. I managed to get 6! Hopefully you enjoy the video and thanks so much for watching. David Details
