It’s been a brilliant weekend out here in Mandurah in Western Australia at the Wakeboard World Cup. Three of us from Ireland were selected to compete, Sian Hurst, DC (David Coates) and myself. Unfortunately, none of us managed to make it through the heats but we still had a sick time out here in 30 degree heat and we celebrated Paddy’s day in the sunshine.
Big congrats to Harley Clifford (AUS) who won the stop again and to Shota Tezuka (JPN)) and Daniel Powers (USA) who came 2nd and 3rd. Well done also to Marc Kroon (NED) and also to my fellow O’Brien Team Rider, Parker Siegel (AUS), who both made Finals in their first World Cup! You can watch the Finals runs here at 7 hours and 7 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/user/iwsfworldcup
In the Women’s Finals it was Australian Bec Gange who came first. Nicola Butler (GB) took 2nd and I’m super stoked for Carro Djupso (SWE) who finished out the podium. You can watch the Women’s Finals at 6 hours and 7 minutes here too. http://www.youtube.com/user/iwsfworldcup
Thanks so much to Des Burke-Kennedy for the photos!
Tonight we leave for our 24 hour trip back to Dublin – back to the cold, wind and rain or snow!
Cheers,
David
